billk (291), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA Aug 16, 2004 Updated: Jul 18, 2005 Tap @ Great Northern bar Whitefish, MT. Clear light amber/gold color with decent off white head. Aroma was light malt w mild spicy hops. Flavor was fresh, bright, clean, light roasted malt with moderate hops and a pleasant bitterness with a touch of spiciness. Slightly sweet. It had a pleasant hop nip in the finish. I really like the hallertauer type hops. This beer’s freshness and clean taste were very nice. Went well with food. The body was just at the threshold of medium though. If the body was fuller with more flavor this pale would have hit at least a 4 with me. 7/18/05 Had this again but it wasn’t called gold this time. It was quite cloudy and rather sweet. Seemed a bit starchy and I felt it deserved a 3.5
