This gentle ruby mild has a lingering bitter-sweet taste – a beer for studious reflection and quiet reverence.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, November 2009. Chestnut colour. Not very dark for a mild. Rather moist, clammy aroma. Sweetish initial palate. Fruity malt. Too much green apple. Not much roast at all. Seemed a bit under-conditioned. Flagged for re-rate.

On gravity at the London Drinker festival 11/03/10. Medium brown in colour. Sweet, caramel and dried fruit aroma. Flavour had more caramel and fruit with an abrupt, sweet finish. Ok.

Cask, gravity, at St Neots BF ’09 (’Booze on the Ouse’). Very dark brown. Pleasant sweet fruity aroma of prunes and raisins. A little gentle sourness in the taste with some bready background. Nice mild.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Vat & Fidle Nottingham. A dark brown/ruby coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma is fruity, with hints of cherry with some sweet milkiness creeping into the taste. Quite interesting and satisfying in parts but a touch odd.
