This is a German style Hefeweizen and its distinct Hefeweizen yeast lends the aroma and taste of banana and cloves. The wheat malt and the Cascade hops give this brew a pleasant, citrus-like quality as well as a clean, flavorful taste.

Tap @ Blackhorse. Cloudy orange-gold with a brief white head leaving a coarse lace. Light ripe banana and yeast nose. Medium body is fairly sweet and has citrus (mostly oranges) and bread flavors, with some spiciness. I’m getting some late peanut butter too, which is rather odd. Not very refreshing.

Bottle. Lactic lemon, banana, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Clear golden yellow with giant white head. Lightly sweet lemon, light banana, very light wheat malt, and very mild straw flavor. Very light body. Aroma okay but doesn’t come through in the taste - not much malt either.

650 ml. pours out a hazy yellow-golden with a thin film of cream. Big aroma of spicy banana bread. Flavors of banana, walnut with the bitter pith, citrus zest and a touch of green herb. Crisp finish of fresh cut and dried grass. Light-medium body has a medium carbonation and a nice balance. Easy drinker that’s a nice American-hopped take on the venerable style.

22oz bottle, purchased a couple weeks ago from the brewery. Looks like kind of a low fill. Delicious banana hefe bready wheaty flavor up front. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Tons of vanilla particularly in the finish, very nice. Mildly spicy. Hazy golden color with a good thin white head, leaving decent lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Good full feel. Light slick texture. Awesome hefeweizen. Very enjoyable. Great to wash my sandwich down with.

Deep yellow with white head. Aroma is dominated by clove. Flavor is a mishmash of clove and banana. Each trading out the dominate flavor. Light medium body with a bito fizzy carbonation. Good example of the style.

Pours a pale yellow. Aroma of bananas. This beer has a huge banana aftertaste, which for me ruins it. Burr I’m not a fan of Hefeweizen to begin with, bit this beer didn’t do it for me.

Cloudy yellow, with a ring of white foam. Piney, vanilla, and banana aroma, with some spicy notes in the background. Palate is kind of crisp, as opposed to the soft palate I expect in a classic German Hefe. Nice mix of hops up front, with subtle vanilla and banana notes. Probably not to style (too hoppy), but actually not bad.
