Honoring traditional Belgian processes, Or de Belgique is the "Gold of Belgium" made here in Minnesota. Bursting with tropical fruit flavors and rich aroma, this sophisticated and balanced beer is the perfect beverage to accompany a special night out. Lending a touch of sweetness to acidic or bitter dish and cleansing the palate between bites of rich meats and dessert.

Large bottle purchased at Haskells. Tulip glass. Really attractive amber-orange color. Lots of sweetness. Impressed by the Belgian style representation. Smell predominately syrup-like dark fruit. Really enjoy the finish. Almost a vibrant Belgian strong ale. Refreshing, tart, good. This MN ale could hold its own at a festival in Brugges.

Such a big orange color! Vigorous hop presence. Moderate bitterness infusion. O.k. I hadn’t heard of this brewery before now. (on tap at Winter Beer Dabbler, January 2014).

Pour on tap at APN, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of sugary citrus, orange, hints of grass, touch of earth, hints of white fruits, slight notes of red fruits as well in there. Taste is a mix of red fruits, slight spice, grass, orange and grapefruit notes, hints of grain, caramel, and toffee notes, finishing fairly sweet, sugary. Way too sweet.

Cloudy dark yellow color with a fizzy head that turns filmy & higher in volume with a high amount of carbonation. Lacing retention is also pretty good. Aroma of lemon zest, cloves, bananas, cracked peppers, and pale malts. Flavors of yeast, cracked peppers, lemony zest, bananas, cloves, bubblegum and malts. Body is moderate in weight, lightly carbonated and rather smooth. Great tasting beer!

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2014 Big bottle, which was very hard to open. Dark orange, small head. Strong Dark fruit and funky aroma. Yeasty flavor with dark fruit. Good but finish is not perfect. I liked it better when I had it at a beer festival.

750mL Bottle. Fluffy banana and guava aroma. Extremely effervescent, as foam leaves the bottle before pouring. Nice light sweetness, good Belgian yeast juicy fruit. I like this quite a bit. It’s a good use of Belgian yeast and a nice build. The malt is well buried by the yeast character, but that’s okay because the yeast puts off a nice profile of rich fruits, spiciness, and clean subtle esters and phenols. Thankfully, it leaves behind harshness and overbearing coarseness. I’m very critical of American renditions of Belgian ales, because the yeast profiles are often so far from decent, but this one does a nice job of pairing pale malt with rich bubbly fruit notes without entering off-flavor territory. I’d love to try more of there stuff, but I’m a thousand miles away now. Glad I took a gamble on bringing this home without knowing the brewery.
