3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 radarsock (487) - Massachusetts, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Served in an overflowing pint at Ale House, Amesbury. On the beer list, it’s defined as a bourbon and a rye barrel fermented hard cider. Pours a light Gatorade yellow, absolutely zero head. Tastes and smells of lemon juice, apple pie filling, pectin, Ozark gold apple jam, yeast, sweet potatoes and esters. Starts bittersweet, tart and ends highly sweet and dry. Decent.

Pours pale green tea into a shaker. No head and mild carbonation. Sour apple and yeast aromas. Soft and dry with sweet caramel and apples front to back. Medium length, mildly tart finish.

Served 20oz at a time @ Meadhall in Cambridge.
Clear, mellow gold.
Faint apples. Smells curiously funky.
Tastes juicy, faintly acidic & tart. Mild yeastiness. Semi-sweet & sour apples, but finishes dry. Very drinkable I thought.

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Somewhat funky and vinous on the nose, soft apple. Medium bodied, cheesy and tart. Light acid and musk. Softly sweet, a touch more acid, caramel, and funk. Sweet and more light farmhouse funk. Very interesting. The funk is nice, but it does get a bit sweet throughout.

Seemed like a knockoff woodchuck, which is like making a knockoff budweiser, total waste of time. NOT WORTH IT.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 porterhouse (1581) - Boothbay Harbor, Maine, USA - DEC 16, 2011
(22 oz. bottle from Bootleggers) Pours yellow-golden, mostly clear, with some fizz. Apple aroma, mostly sweet but some tartness mixed in. Hint of breadiness. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, light-medium effervescence. Flavor of sweet apple with a bit of tartness and borderline sour hints. Fairly simple and kind of soda-poppy.

This is a wonderful, not overly sweet cider that can only be found on draft or by growler at the winery. Has a much more authentic taste than bottled ciders that are over produced.
