This is a great IPA with nice citrus and resiny hop flavors with a nice sweet, crisp malt backbone.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Suttree. Thanks! Pours a hazy amber color with a large tan head. Good head retention. Sticky hop aroma with citrus and tropical notes. The taste is bitter, citrus hops and toffee malts. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Solid beer.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 rangerred (659) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - MAR 5, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a slightly hazy lighter gold wiht a one finger white head. Thick lacing all the way around the sides of the glass with pretty good head retention.
The aroma is quite dank with some hints of onion. Citrus is present but it is a little bit muted with just a little orange, pineapple, and grapefruit sneaking through. Pretty unique and quite mouthwatering.
Definitely more citrus present in the flavor in the way of pineapple and grapefruit. There is a little clove/banana yeast character but not enough to really throw off the flavor. Some earth and not a whole lot in the way of maltiness; the hops are the driving force in this beer. Bitterness is assertive with a little stickyness left over.
Overall, a really good offering from Blackstone and a solid IPA. While it is not as fruity as I prefer, it is a beer worthy of picking up and one of the better ones I have had from a Tennessee brewery.

12 oz. Bottle --> Tulip. Thanks MissAliceDonut! Cloudy orange pour, generous billowy head. Weird, when I initially nosed this I had a Founders Devil Dancer flashback, bready malts and dank hops... It’s not punch you in the face citrus. Mouthfeel is low to medium and carbonation is spritely. It rolls over the palate a little awkwardly, initial bite is there, then it kicks out mid-palate. Finishes is sticky, malty sweet. I don’t know if this really fits the west coast ipa mold, however I do like it! Grassy and floral, this leaves some nice lacing on the glass.

12 oz. Clear golden-amber with a lasting half inch of spongy foam. Nice aroma of spicy pollen, caramel, orange-grapefruit zest, light toast and evergreen resin. Taste is a nice blend of honeycomb, grapefruit, mango, peach, toast and resin. Near-medium body is dry, but somehow seems a tad sticky and has light-medium carbonation.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2013 On tap at Flying Saucer in Germantown, TN. Pours a clear golden color with decent head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is strong: floral, some citrus, some pine. hoppy smell but balanced. Taste is on the floral side, with some grapefruit and citrus I think. Finish is lightly bitter but smooth. This is the best IPA in Tennessee that I have tried that leans towards the West Coast IPAs ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 elgiacomo (732) - Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, USA - JAN 29, 2013
12oz bottle, best by 4th week of March 2013. Served at around 40-45F.
Pours semi-hazy amber with a two finger white head that leaves globby rings of lacing and holds a good cap.
Aroma is oranges, some pine, apricot, caramel, bread. Good to very good strength. Hoppy but balanced with a good bit of malt.
Flavor is orange citrus, apricot, resinous hops, good amount of caramel malt, mild to moderate sweetness, moderate to good bitterness, some alcohol on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, somewhat creamy, little sticky, good carbonation.
Good IPA. Definitely more on the balanced side, decent bit of caramel here, not exactly my style, but pretty good.

Adam Bomb is a classic American style IPA. Bright orange to copper in color with a nice foam head, it smells citrusy and floral. Bright fresh hops. On the palate it tastes fresh and just reminds me of a classic IPA. Not overly bitter or sweet. Refreshing as can be. Great beer year round. Easily the best effort that I’ve tasted from Blackstone. Well done guys.
