Chinook hops. West Coast style IPA. This beer is under construction and still being tweaked. This IPA finishes with a bright hop and a particular sweetness. Check back for future batches!

Bottle poured a hazy orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, orange zest and grapefruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, orange zest, earthiness and grapefruit with a smooth dry moderately bitter lingering citrus finish.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Suttree. Thanks! Pours a hazy amber color with a large tan head. Good head retention. Sticky hop aroma with citrus and tropical notes. The taste is bitter, citrus hops and toffee malts. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Solid beer.

First beer of the East Nashville Beer Festival, and it was a good way to start. Here’s the thing, though - while it is very good, there really isn’t anything terribly unique about it. Just a well made, insanely tasty IPA. Pine, caramel, the usual players. But it is tasty!

Almost copper pour with frothy white head and lace. Citrus hops and sweet malt dominate aroma. Citrus hops, sweet caramel malt, and a growing resiny like bitter that hangs on forever, tones of breadiness on the flavor as well. Medium/light body with good carbonation. Nice beer.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Resinous with a bit of pine and mild citrus. Fairly bitter. Pretty good.

draft, light hop presence, a little too light for my taste, oh well. The malts are strong, it could just be too old

12 oz. Clear golden-amber with a lasting half inch of spongy foam. Nice aroma of spicy pollen, caramel, orange-grapefruit zest, light toast and evergreen resin. Taste is a nice blend of honeycomb, grapefruit, mango, peach, toast and resin. Near-medium body is dry, but somehow seems a tad sticky and has light-medium carbonation.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Suttree. Best Before May 2013 Week 3 notched on the label. The pour is very slightly hazed orange golden with a 1 ½ inch light tan head, which is quite lasting. The aroma is soft citrus fruit hops, lightly resin floral, along with a mineral cracker malt. The taste is resin cracker malt up front, moving quickly to the floral citrus fruit hop. Finish is mineral and dry. As the beer warms, both the aroma and taste reveal a decent amount of pine. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered natural mouth feel and the dry finish. Nice IPA, would love to try fresh on draft. Thanks for sending this my way, Phil.

Cloudy dark orange body that throws up a tall off-white head. Hop aroma of grapefruit and pine resin. Solidly bitter flavor profile. The malt sweetness is there in a support role, but the hop bitterness has this well checked. Bravo for Blackstone. The best beer I’ve had from them.
