Commercial Description:
This beer is not named after an obscure character in a Dickens novel. It is instead the beer equivalent of a varietal wine: Maris Otter is considered by many brewers to be the finest of all English Barleys, and is reserved for "top of the line" pale ales, where its low tannin and protein content make for a clean flavor combined with a smooth finish. The hops are Willamette. (o.g. 1.054 IBUs 32)

Rating 1059, On tap at the brewery in Nashville TN. The description on the menu was soooo strange I am going to submit it for a correction and hopefully it will get added. I mean seriously, so strange that from the description I wasnt sure if this was dishwater or a beer. </P> Clear with no bubbles. Ruby with no head. Nose is thin with slight hops. Is that cascade hops? Hops crisp thn quickly to a flat lager stale water syrup runoff. Then more to medium hoppy bitterness. Barely drinkable.

Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Golden yellow with a cream white finger of head. Heavy malts, grainy and caramels a pinch of hops in the aroma. Body is very sweet and candy apples, some hops but not enough to pinch off the finish.

Sampled at the 2008 Music City Brewers Fest. Copper with an off-white head that left light lacing. Sweet aroma of fruits and malts. The flavor finds caramel and a light fruit background. Light body with a medium bitterness. Smooth carbonation.

Draft at Blackstone. Bright copper color with thick foamy head and great lacing. Aroma is very malty with a fresh scent. Taste is rich malt with light hop notes.
