Our most popular brewmaster special brought back by overwhelming requests. A classic British nut brown ale. Full bodied, complex and interesting yet mild in flavor. Our interpretation of this style has distinctive hop aroma and flavor. (O.G.-1.052, IBUs 23)

12 oz bottle, via illinismitty. Pours a dark brown with a small white head that fades to a thin covering. Grainy malt aroma with hints of chocolate and a light nuttiness. Lightly nutty and toasted malt flavor. Finish has some roasted malt and light bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little thin and watery on the finish. Your average Brown Ale, never an exciting style but this one is better than some.

Nice nutty aroma along with some coffee roast. Roasted malt stood out in this beer. Brown with a red hue and tan head. Body was little thin but still had a mix of roasted malts and hop bitterness. Decent brew.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2006 Another Beer_Hawk TN hookup! Pours red/brown, decent white head. Nutty, burnt caramel nose. Flavor is nice, slightly sweet roasty caramel. Not too complex, and a slightly sticky finish. but a nice offering.

Thanks to beer_hawk for this one. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of nuts, some coffee and mellowing chocolate. Taste is roasty and sweet with some chocolate and a bit of a peppery bite. Finishes slightly bitter. Another good one from these guys.

Bottle. Amber-brown beer with a light beige head. Nutty, slightly roasty aroma. Nutty flavor with some malt and underlying hops. Light bodied. Easy drinking.

Fantastic beer from home I’ll say. Tastes best from the brewery - but sold even Kroger here. Good color, no real head. Fun to support the locales when it tastes good too.

I live in Nashville. I like Blackstone. Their beers are good simple beers that pair nicely with food. Nothing complex, but great simple session brews. Boy was I excited when they were bottling their beers. First problem is that they are not bottling the best house brews, the porter and the red springs ale. Second problem, the beer is not nearly as good as the beer at the brewery. My bottle poured reddish brown. Quickly diminishing head and no lacing. Weak aroma, but slight fruit and malt notes. Flavor is decent, which is a balance of mild hops , toasted malt and nuts, and caramel. Finish on the bottled beer is its weakness. It could be a little cleaner. It is much better on tap at the brewpub.

In the bottle. Thanks to Springslicker for the beer trade. Reddish brown in color. Poor head retention. Off white head color. Caramel and molasses aroma. No discernable nut aroma to me. Something of a fruity berry flavor. The finishing flavor has a little nut character. Good malt content throughout. An enjoyable beer in a style that I usually don’t care much about.

(Bottle, courtesy of Sledge Jr) Pours a dark mahogany body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, raisin, and grass. Flavor of malt, cocoa, caramel, and a bit of fruit with a dry finish.

Faint hop aroma with almost no hop flavor. Not a problem since it has a sweet, malty, almost creamy/nutty flavor (no, not like peanut butter). Looks gorgeous. Pours a deep, raspberry red with small white head. Nice medium-light, smooth mouthfeel with a clean, quick finish. A mild, inviting beer that most people would enjoy.
