A pretty nutty aroma; brown color. Decent. Some maltiness, sweet and a bit sticky but not too bad. Finishes too sweet for me.

Almost no aroma, off-white head, light roasted flavor with a dry, lightly carbonated finish. A little generic if you ask me.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DrinkEmUpJones (675) - Georgia, USA - APR 7, 2012
Clear red brown color with thin white lacing. A lot of roasted nuts on the aroma. Smooth and creamy mid palate with a nicely sweetened finish. Great example of a nut brown.

12 oz. Clear, deep copper-brown, with a lasting half inch of meringue. Big aromas of dark-roasted nut and earthy bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is the same, with some graham cracker and a hint of caramel apple. Nice finish of char and prickly green herb. Medium body is soft and smoothly carbonated, with a great balance between the caramely malt and the touch of hops and roast. Almost an old style English porter; excellent brown.

Bottle from Sean - thanks! Pours a clear, medium colored brown with a scattering of tan foam. Aroma has a nice roast quality followed by light tobacco and perhaps some minimal bitter hops. Taste is a very enjoyable mixture of roasted malt, tobacco, nuts, supporting bitterness from the hops, and the slightest tinge of malt sweetness after the finish. Excellent transition among the different components of the flavor. Mouthfeel is clean with some bite from the carbonation. This beer really impressed me with the focus and precision of the roast/tobacco character and the supporting hop bitterness. Excellent beer.

Excellent sweet brown ale. Maple brown color and leaves some lacing on the glass. Finish is sweet syrup and a hint of dry fruit at the finish. Very drinkable brown ale a winner in my book

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 elgiacomo (588) - Chickamauga, Georgia, USA - NOV 8, 2011
12oz bottle, best by end of Nov 2011. Served at 45F.
Pours clear copper brown with a small light beige head that leaves a few spots of lacing and recedes to a wispy cap.
Aroma features some mild nuts, toffee, but also some unfortunate cardboard and maybe slightly metallic. Moderate strength but does get a little better as it warms.
Flavor is better than the aroma and has some caramel, toffee, brown sugar, nuts, some herbal hops, fair sweetness mild bitterness, little alcohol.
Mouthfeel is light/medium bodied with strong carbonation.
Average Brown Ale, not terribly impressed overall.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 wedgie9 (1441) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Tasted on 9/8/11 from a 12oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods Green Hills. Pours a clear, but very dark ruby-brown with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to uneven lace, leaving some thick lace along the inside of the glass. The nose features dusty chocolate malt along with a hint of raw almonds and hazelnuts, and a bit of herbal green hops. The flavor is more or less the same, with the dusty chocolate malts up front, moving to the raw almond and hazelnut, and finishing with a very pronounced, very herbal, lightly bitter hops. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long chocolate malt and lightly bitter herbal hops finish.
