Bottle:   Amberish, slightly dark and dirty, some sediment floats about, mild to moderate sandy head, little lacing, little carbonation.   Soft spicy nose, cinnamon and nutmeg.   Pretty straight forward on the tongue with the aformentioned spices.   A little mealy, but not bad.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes clean, a little malty, soft spices linger.   Touch of honey maybe.   Solid example, nothing out of the ordindary but clean and a good example of the style.   Does have a bit of a spiced candle like flavor that lingers well after the finish.

12 ounce bottle. A lighter bodied pumpkin ale that does a good job of showcasing the pumpkin flavor as opposed to other spices. It won’t win any awards for being rich, big, or complex. But it is drinkable. Notes of pumpkin, graham cracker, cinnamon, and spice. Very decent.

12 oz. Clear amber with a ring of bubbles. Pleasant nose of earthy leaf and spices - nutmeg, clove, and toasted pecan. Flavor is way too much spice from the get-go. All cinnamon, nutmeg, mace and no pumpkin discernable. Light body is smooth and balanced, with medium carbonation.

12 oz bottle local convenience store Pours clear gold with a average sized white head. Nutmeg and clove aroma The flavor is pumpkin pie spice. Decent, but I’ve had better and many that were much worse.

Jabic (405) - Brigantine, New Jersey, USA - SEP 23, 2012
Ar: A hint of toasted malt and some nutmeg. Ap: Clear amber-orange - small off-white head with poor retention and just a wisp of foam. T: Deep caramel and brown sugar up front, reminiscent of baked yams - cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg - medium-sweet - some vanilla - caramel and brown sugar on the finish with a very light bitterness. P: Medium-full body with medium-low carbonation - finish is medium. O: Very rich and satisfying pumpkin ale - really captures a lot of the "secondary" flavors of pumpkin pie (brown sugar, caramel, vanilla), along with the normal spicing, and a very satisfying mouthfeel.

Draft at the brewpub. This is yet another pumpkin ale that is extra heavy on the cinnamon and nutmeg flavor and not so heavy on actual pumpkin or beer flavor. I think other people really enjoy this kind of thing as it reminds them of a sweet, spiced pumpkin dessert, though July is an unconventional time to serve such things. The spices completely take over this beer, though it never really gets too sticky or too sweet like others in the style. It’s just not for me.
