This beer is phenomenal! An absolutely perfect representation of a Brown Porter and the GABF medals prove it. Well balanced malty deliciousness. My favorite Porter by far.

Wonderfully delightful, what a good porter should taste like. Dark and thick with a good maltiness, and a touch of hops. Very full rich body.

Pint glass of draft. Dark brown to almost black. I thought very hoppy for a porter and reminded me of a black IPA. The more I drank of it the better I liked it. Lots of chocolate and vanilla flavor to offset the hops . Enjoyed it thoroughly.

On tap @ Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery. A deep brown/black pour with a medium sustained head and ample lacing. Toasted malts in the aroma with a very slight smokiness and a touch of cocoa and coffee. Taste is smooth with the toasted malts up front followed by a slight semi-sweet chocolate, a pinch of java, and again a slight smokiness. Excellent rich porter. Will revisit.

I'm givin' these guys lot's of love for stickin' their rednecks out there to brew this. I liked it. Don't let the TN fool you, this is an ass kickin' beer. Nice coffee taste and nutty mouthfeel. Best TN beer I've had.

Nice dark brown pour with a decent gray head. Aroma is chocolate and powdered cocoa. A sweet brownie flavor with a floral counterpoint. Great mouthfeel, not thin as too many porters lean to IMO. A nice mocha like finish without the coffee or roast element. A damn fine porter.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2010 Glowing deep red at the edges yet totally opaque-persistent frothy head lacing the glass. Aroma of caramel, coffee, roasted malt. This is by far the smoothest beer i have ever had. It slides down your throat like an oyster. Itís like a magical way of delivering flavor to your mouth without drinking anything. So silky. flavor is roasted nuts, caramel, and toasted dark malt. On Tap at the brewpub.

Yum. This Porter does the trick satisfying a dark yet medium bodied Porter. Aroma is chocolate malt with an additional hint of sweetness. Taste is immediatley met with a mellow pallate which is why this brown porter is so drinkable.

12 oz. Clear, deep mahogany with a lasting half inch of bubbles. Nice aroma is a bittersweet mix of coffee, caramel, char, marshmallow and dry cocoa. Taste is all that plus some wood, graham cracker, smoky herb and apple. Medium body is smooth and well balanced.

Dark brown with red tint and light tan head. Aroma is smoky roast coffee. Taste is roast malt, a little sweet and hoppier than most. Enjoyable.
