3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from Local #1. Very dark mahogany with a light brown head. Roasted malts, smoke, some coffee grounds, chocolate. Moderate carbonation and body, bittersweet, more chocolate, becomes somewhat dry, well balanced, nice smoke and malt on the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with an amber hue. Large tan head and good amount of lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, hints of dark fruit and coffee. Taste is heavy on the roasted malts up front with coffee, dark chocolate, plum, and an underlying earthy hop bitterness. Tasty sweetness and bitter mix in the finish of toast, dark chocolate, and hop resin. Medium bodied, oily but slightly thin texture, average carbonation. Interesting beer. Taste and mouthfeel are kind of a mix of a porter and a brown ale.

Roasted malt, dryness, mild coffee and some bitterness in the flavour.
Quite easy for a Porter.

This beer is phenomenal! An absolutely perfect representation of a Brown Porter and the GABF medals prove it. Well balanced malty deliciousness. My favorite Porter by far.

Shared from a 12oz brown bottle into a nonic glass, thanks gregwilsonstl. It poured a clear dark brown colour, reddish at the edges, with long-lasting beige foam and lots of lace. Aromas of toast, roasted barley, plums, raspberries, coffee. Flavour was tart, toasty again, caramelly, fruity, bright coffee-like acidity again. Nice bready malt flavours with true-to-style English hop balance. Light body and carbonation, a bit thin but not to the point of watery, with a nice chalky/mineral water mouthfeel. A basic but well-crafted Porter. Good stuff.

Dark brown. Mellow hints of chocolate. Thick head. Lacing. Lasting vanilla....but not up front. Tasty but nothing special.

Slight roasty notes and very drinkable. I’d like to try this one on cask with less carbonation .Goes well with their food!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy dark cherry amber with a long lasting head/head cover, wisps of lace. Taste is a chewy caramel malt with a hint of toast. Taste grows through the palate, becoming slightly chalky on the roof of the mouth before adding a light hop bittering to finish. Overall, a solid traditional porter. Recommended.

Solid porter. Dark brown with slight beige head. Sweet carmel on the nose. More caramel on the pallet with pleasant aftertaste.
