UPDATED: APR 20, 2009 Coffee and faint chocolate aroma. Tastes sweet then overwhelmingly coffee and chocolate bitter. Needs a bit more sweet malt backbone.

12 oz. bottle from jbrana- thanks again, Justin! Pours a deep, dark coffee brown that shows a hint of amber hue throughout when held up to the light; small beige head that leaves some spots and streaks of lace. Aroma of big toasted malts, chocolate, leaves, nuts, and the slightest trace of coffee grounds. The flavor is largely the same, starting and finishing with toast, along with leaves, nuts, and chocolate late. Some gritty earthiness as well. Medium-bodied, with a toasty, gritty, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Really solid porter. Exceeded my expectations.

Better than the nut brown. It’s sweet, but also has some thickness. The graininess is just to enough to defeat the sweetness. Not bad.

Draft at flying saucer. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Not much on the nose. Slight chocolate note on the tongue which becomes more pronounced on the tongue. Solid but certainly not spectacular.

12oz bottle pours a murky dark brown with a small khaki head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Fairly light body, roasted malts, with some smoke, coffee, and bitter chocolate.

Clear dark brown/black. Big nose of dark chocolate and cafe au lait. Palate is balanced, round dark chocolate milk and coffee. Very tasty.

12 oz. Clear, deep mahogany with a lasting half inch of bubbles. Nice aroma is a bittersweet mix of coffee, caramel, char, marshmallow and dry cocoa. Taste is all that plus some wood, graham cracker, smoky herb and apple. Medium body is smooth and well balanced.

Yum. This Porter does the trick satisfying a dark yet medium bodied Porter. Aroma is chocolate malt with an additional hint of sweetness. Taste is immediatley met with a mellow pallate which is why this brown porter is so drinkable.

Roasted coffee aroma, bronze pour with a tan head. Dry, lightly hopped flavor. Dry roasty finish with light carbonation.
