Cask, Slug & Lettuce, Leicester. Straw coloured with a thin foam. Aromas are pithy grapefruit with lemon and apricot jam. Dusty with sharp, resinous hops. Flavours are bitter lemon mixer with grapefruit. Grassy with quite pungent hops. Floral with some lychee. Dry on the finish with underlying biscuit malts. Good.

Cask conditioned handpump The Pub Leicester. A light golden beer with a white head. Pleasant citrus hops with a littlelime in the nose. Sharpish in the mouth. Grassy notes and a passing herbalness. Served a tad warm not allowing the hops to fully develop.

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh on the recommendation of Benjii] Pours a hazy straw yellow colour with a thin head. Bitter, zesty hop aroma at first, but after a while the nose mellows out into a mild floral smell. Tasting, pithy lemon flavours and floral hop, leading into a bitter finish. On paper it sounds great, and it really was good to drink, but there was something missing for me, it was all too samey. One pint was enough really – although it was an enjoyable pint, that said [24062011]

Cask handpull, The Greyhound, Coventry. Pale wirth a thin foam lacing with each sip. Perfumed hop aroma buliding with blackcurrant, lychee and pollen as it warms. Less assertively hop-accented flavour; Fairy Liquid, lime, floweriness..leading into a long, sweet cashew and Butterkist finish. Salopian do no wrong where pale hoppy little beasts are concerned. Could happily drink a gallon of this.

Cask at Cloisters. Lovely light yellow colour. Lacy white head that dies away. Awesome piney, eucalyptus aroma with some sweetness. Resinous hop flavour that lingers. Excellent if a little thin. I appreciate 1 dimensional beers in favour of hops : )

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold with white head. Flowery zesty beer but with little foundation, no background flavours, rather like a hoppy cordial. Drinkable but wanting.
