3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned handpump Slug & Lettuce Leicester 21/11/12. A dark gold coloured beer with a white head. Good hoppiness in the nose with a touch of sugary sweetness from the malt. It’s the same in the mouth. There is a distict digestive biscuit taste too. A really interesting flavoured beer which I really enjoyed.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hand-pulled half pint at the 2012 Shrewsbury Beer Festival (1st Nov).
Light amber body with a tight white head that tried to hang around but turned into a wisp and collar half way down the tasting.
The nose was fairly weak: spicy hops and maybe a biscuity malt hint.
The taste was all hop, spicy, semi-bitter and not citrusy, which is a change for Salopian at the moment.
Pleasantly surprised by the brew: I thought it might be bland and boring (like some of the Blackwater range), but it wasn’t.
