Bottle, Chester Beer & Wine. Deep dark brown pour with the merest of heads. Aroma had some roast and chocolate present with similar themes persisting into the flavour. The chilli crept into play towards the finish. Solid enough offering.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 16/10/2012. Black with a slight, off-white head. Roasted malts and milk chocolate aroma. Flavour had some more chocolate sweetness, roasted malts and a dryish finish with some lingering chilli warmth. Good.

Cask (Live & Let Live, Cambridge)
Nice soft chocolatey aroma. Looked great - black and large spongy head. Smooth palate, carbonation low. Rich chocolatey body, no chilli worth mentioning, IMHO. Very nice and super quaffable. Finish has more of the chocolate. Quite similar to the ironopolis stout from the PBBF.

Bottled version at 5% abv, taste is of roast malts, an average stout with no chilli or chocolate flavours found, dissapionting. The palate had a slightly warming whisky taste

Cask handpull at Flower Pot Maidstone. Black beer with lasting tan head. Roasty toasty choc aroma. In the mouth more choc and then a reasonably restrained chili kicks in. Yes some biting heat. Not terrible. Some good choc flavours with a touch of charcoal. Chili on finish is pretty good. Decent novelty beer

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise (labeled as Northern Chilli Chocolate Stout). Dark brown pour, oily, with no head. Dense chocolate malt nose. Flavor is really roasty, a bit sweet, kind of like an impy lite. Light to medium in body with fine to flat carbonation. The chili spices really kick in during the finish, some nice burn, good cocoa roast. Very spicy. A nicely executed beer.

Spicy roast aroma. Beige head. Black smooth and slightly rich on the palate with a hint of dryness in a crisp bitter and spicy finish.
