Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Straw coloured with a white foam. Aromas are mellow citrus with oak and yeast. Some marmalade with peppery, clean hops. Flavours are sweet grain with some grittiness. Light citrus with yeast and some floral aspects. A bit thin but OK for a summers day (which this isn’t).

Cask - draught at the Orange Tree, Altrincham. Dark amber colour with lasting white head. Earthy aroma with a slightly unpleasant touch of diacetyl. Flavour is also earthy and with that diacetyl/butterscotch note. Tasted better than it smelled. Dry/bitter finish. Medium palate. Undistinguished.
