2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask handpull at Pembury Tavern. Gold with disappearing white head. I assumed this was a wheat beer from the name. Bit of dull cereal on aroma. Thinnish condition, citrus and lemon flavours, tingling hop finish. Not much of a wheat beer if it is one. A bit thin, some decent citrus on end.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask (gravity dispense) Pembury Tavern, Hackney. Clear gold colour. I initially assumed from the name that this was a wheat beer, but it seems that the monthly special range is bird-themed. That doesn’t mean it is not a wheat beer of course. In fact there was a rather cereal accented character to the aroma that I suppose could come from wheat. But the flavour seemed to be rather more corny. The mouthfeel was rather dull. I’m not convinced this was in perfect condition.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A Sim rate (Cask at the Pembury Tavern): Cloudy dark golden colour. Smells a lot like cream cheese. Dairylea probably. Tastes like some sort of cleaning product. Really sharp and none too pleasant hops. Not too great.
