3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from a Superalko in Tallinn (€ 1,40). BB 03.2016. Poured as suggested on the label: half, swirl, other half. It is very pale, hazy or even milky yellow with a massive white top that leaves big islands of lacing. Nose the usual spiciness and citrusy orange peel and lemon, but somewhat dank wheat, distinct Belgian yeast, banana, cereals. Taste sweet and grainy with moderate bitterness that turns more sour in the finish. Palate wheaty, grainy and dry, body medium, carbonation quite crisp. For some reason I think I’d enjoy this the most very early in a summer morning before breakfast, watching the sun rise on some cottage terrace with my bare feet in the cold dew-covered grass.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home split with Sarah, picked up at Morrisons. Clouded pale yellow straw, with a big frothy pure white head. Aroma is floral, lavendar, soapy and orange peel. Flavour is composed of doughy wheat bread, soapy lavander, hint of lemon citrus, soapy finish. Palate is highly carbonated, spritzy on the tongue, doughy. Ok, a bit too much spices for me.

250ml bottle poured in an ordinary glass.
A: Pours the traditional pale white cloudy color with a reasonable fluffy white head. Medium retention and some lacings
S: Smell is a must, a Witbier after all. Fruity, grassy and spicy. Orange zest, coriander and cloves. Wheat, Belgian yeasts and some flowery hops in the end
T: Follows the nose. Malts followed by spices: coriander and clove, mainly. Dry and citric. Orange zest and yeasts. Mild bitterness
M: Light and refreshing. Reasonable carbonation
O: Very drinkable. Leaves a quite herby aftertaste in the mouth. Nice beer

330 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy, pale yellow with a big white head of foam. The aroma has a dry yeasty character with light notes of orange zest. Lightly sweet taste. Light body and medium carbonation. Easy drinking.

Świetne piwo białe o bardzo naturalnym i wyraźnym smaku. Treściwe, idealnie mętne ale jakby brakowało czegoś co wyróżniło by je od innych z rodzaju.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mainly 75cl summery bottles, 2012-2014. Heavily spiced (white pepper and coriander seed) citrus milkshake with a great, spritzy mouthfeel when well-cooled, some white bread/sandwich sweetness and a herbal, slightly pollen-like chalky dry finish. Notes of aniseed, unripe banana, young clove, thyme. Love the almost playful, fluffy yeast profile. Go-to summer sessioning Wit ever since Hoegaarden started watering down and great in beer cocktails.
