reddragon (28), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Feb 16, 2008 Nice presentation. Bottle-pour. Rocky head dissipates quickly. Typical Witbier appearance, aroma of orange and coriander, not surprising since these are major ingredients of brew. Imminently quaffable, Witbier enthusiasts will enjoy. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 15, 2008 Super hazy golden orange coloured body with a large white head that fades fast and leaves only a trace in the glass. Aroma of very strong curacao, coriander seed and yeast with oranges (not the peel) and some other spices noticeable at the end. Medium-bodied; Strong spiceyness up front with coriander seed most noticeable along with yeast and a tiny bit of anise. Aftertaste is much more mellow, with yeast and wheat the predominant tastes, only making way for the spices for a fraction of a second. Overall, a good, spicey and full flavoured wit! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Sam’s Warehouse Liquor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 15-February-2008. blutt59 (2045), Dallas, Texas, USA Feb 14, 2008 750 ml bottle, nice head that recedes quickly , very good carbonation and champagne like appearance, however on first taste there is not much there, too light for my taste, has a very nice body and feel but lacks flavor maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland Feb 11, 2008 not much on nosing, malt, some faint lemon/citrus
murkey/cloudy, really was excited to taste.
flavor had more corriander/spice than nose, but was diappointed it wasn’t more complex & interesting
on the tongue it was clean & silky with good clean finish. i think hoegarden is classier witte BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Feb 7, 2008 Bottle: Misty yellow beige, very little head and lacing. Nose of light pilsner malt and coriander, peach, herbal nobles and nice light malt. The flavor is spicy with wheat and esters, lots of coriander, nearly no licorice. The finish is grassy, vanilla, orange sorbet. Good saison! Ughsmash (3983), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Feb 6, 2008 Bottle, BB 1/18/08. Poured slightly hazy pale golden with a great initial cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up bunches of fresh orange peel with a spicy, candied appeal to it.. coriander accents.. quite nice! The flavor began with lightly-sour wheat and orange peel rolling across the tip of the tongue.. oranges and coriander on the middle.. sweet, candied pale malts, oranges, and sticky spices on the finish. Creamy carbonation on the palate made it thicker than it needed to be at times.. decent brew, and good for the style. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle pours a hazy light yellow/white with a lively short head. Spicy and lemon zest aroma. Belgian mustiness with wheat and spices. Oranfge and corriander. refreshing in an odd way.
thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Jan 29, 2008 Pours a cloudy pale yellow, decent white head. Slight citrus and spice aroma. Very "fresh" scent. Flavor was nearly immaculate. Full, citrusy, floral, spicey, floral and tasty. Goes down completely smooth, fantastically crisp. This is a fantastic Witbier.
