Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Oct 23, 2007 Bottle. Hazy dark yellow with a thick foamy head. Looks like a good wit. Nose-soapy, heather, coriander, moldy, fusty. Taste-prickly CO2, thin, watery, coriander, light lemon juice, salt, good use the usual wit spices, light grapefruit, low esters, low phenols, does a good job of keeping the phenols and esters usually found in wits in check. Not as nasty as most wits. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Oct 20, 2007 Crystal clear and very pale with an active but quickly lost head. Herbal and fruity corriander aroma with notes of bubblegum, blueberry, lavender, wheat. Very light bodied, to the point of being watery. Effervescent and crisp on the palate. Mild and stale in flavor of washed out blueberry and corriander. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Oct 20, 2007 750 ml bottle: Aroma is orange, coriander, clove, light wheat notes, lemon, and a tart sour aroma too. Appearance is almost grapefruit juice like cloudy straw color with a carbonated white head that diminishes into a soapy white film. Taste is quite carbonated on the tongue. Somewhat of a sour lemon taste, a cardboard taste to it. Somewhat of a flat tasting wit in my opinion. Palate has a lingering heavy dry cardboard taste sitting in your mouth. Overall, I didn’t this brew was any good at all. Did not like this. Boo. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a cloudy yellow with a white fluffy head. Aroma of lemon, orange peel, coriander, and some spices. Flavor of wheat, lemon, some banana, citrus, and notes of spices with a crisp and dry finish Zinister (1198), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 12, 2007 Hazy straw color with decent head. Lemon on the nose, wheat and other citrus too. Flavor is much the same with some coriander as well. Nice on a warm fall day. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Oct 10, 2007 Bottled(750ml). -batch No 4191
Cloudy yellow coloured, medium to big white head, lemony acidic nose. Wheaty and very fruity (lemon, lime, orange) acidic aroma with notes of coriander. A bit too thin, but very refreshing. Similar to Brugs Tarwebier. legion242 (1572), Richardson, Texas, USA Oct 6, 2007 Suprised that this didn’t come closer to mimicking Hoegardden- much spicier with the hops then I would have expected. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 4, 2007 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head. Citrus/lime fruity aroma with a minor spice note. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Wheaty flavoured with a mild spicyness and a refreshing citrus/lime note. Ends soft wheaty and fresh without any bitterness. Overall an extremely smooth beer which lacks some more flavour to be really good.
