DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Jun 14, 2007 Updated: Jun 16, 2007Sampled as Tesco ’Finest’ Belgian Wheat Beer. Pale, unmalted haze with a thick creamy collar of froth that persists well. Perfumey nose with a sickly waft of orange, honey and coriander sweetness. There’s some serious poetic license being taken here. This tastes like flat low cal Lilt, with an added tang of molten plastic and alcohol. If you’ve ever accidentally frozen a Wit and tried to drink the liquid left swilling around the ice (surely we’ve all been there??), it sort of reminds me of that. Flat, stale, tropically fruity and nastily alcoholic. Not a Wit I’ll be returning to in a hurry. FatPhil (3449), Espoo, Finland Jun 10, 2007 Updated: May 1, 2009Keg (Gallows Bird, Espoo)
Very perfumed, highly corriander flavour and aroma. Unmalted wheaty body, but floral side dominates. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA May 30, 2007 750ml bottle. Definite coriander in the aroma with a bitterish citrus taste. Cloudy and milky with some tan chunks. Refreshing with a lemony finish. Allen (1289), Switzerland May 29, 2007 Bottled 25cl. It pours a hazy very pale yellow beer with a rather big beautiful snow white head. Quite similar resemblance to Hoegaarden, but with less carbonation. Dominating citrussy aromas. Orange peel, coriander. Acidic, citric taste. Sour. The taste is clearly inferior to the taste, the aromas suggested a better beer. Watery, weak body. Slightly spicy, yeasty. This beer doesn’ t have much depth, weak finish. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark May 29, 2007 Hazy light yellow with fine white head and some good lacings. Coriander, citrus & wheat. Orange "wheatey" taste. Highly carbonated. Fresh’n’fruity! Nice and easy drinkable! oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium May 24, 2007 Drunk it as well from draft as wel from bottle. First look is more like a pils. A taste of soure still medium bodied,, makes this beer an unusual white beer henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA May 22, 2007 The 15.4 ounce bottle poured a slightly hazy straw colored beverage with a snowy white creamy smooth head that was completely lasting and left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was true to the style with dry sour fruity aromas. The body was medium-light with lively carbonation and a dry texture. The flavor starts out lightly sour and stays that way through the medium-long finish, mellowing as it ages on the tongue. The finish is dry, tart and refreshing with slight alcohol warmth. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands May 4, 2007 Pale cloudy lightyellow beer. Aromas of citrus-zest, coriander, oranges and yeast. Lots of coriander, sweetish, slightly acidic, citrussy taste and a bit bitter in the finish. Decent witbier, but a bit too spicy. Brewer, take it easy on the coriander!!
