rauchbier (2992), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Jan 24, 2007 Bottle, from ASDA. Hazy lemon gold, fluffy but shortlived white head and moderate condition. Low gentle corriander spice and lemon citrus in the nose, quite tangy and faintly lactic in the mouth with a balance of sweetness and some spiced notes, gentle milky sweet finish with some dry bitter spiciness at the end.
ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Jan 22, 2007 Hazy yellow, moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is very lemony with notes of coriander and other spices. Flavor brings this, light bodied and watery. Very lemony but otherwise boring wit. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Jan 20, 2007 Well this is a belgian wit lacking complexity and sweetness, I would have appreciated a touch more sweet wheat taste, instead it was drier and less complex in taste than i had hopped for, makes Hoegaarden look special. mike1977ok (633), Netherlands Jan 19, 2007 Updated: Jun 29, 2009Dark, cloudy colour. Exceptionally crisp taste with great flavour. A little spiciness, and a great balance of sharp and sweet. A great white beer that is very refreshing and has a little more gas than some other white beers.
IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA Jan 18, 2007 I though this was one of the better white beers that I have tried. It had a nice spicy flavor with the trademarks of a good white. The head was big and the flavor stayed with me long after I took a sip. RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Jan 14, 2007 Pours a hazy pale yellow, with a one finger head that fades very quickly to a thin spotty cap, leaving behind a minimal amount of lace.
Smell; very much on the mild side. There’s a little orange peel, and coriander, with a light wheat presence. I don’t smell any of the licorice that the label claims is in this.
Taste; the flavor is actually even more thin than the aroma was, and I’m having a hard time picking out any favors other than the orange and coriander. If I concentrate hard enough, I can almost trick myself into tasting the licorice. Mouthfeel is light bodied, with only a little bit of carbonation. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Jan 10, 2007 Draught. Cloudy pale yellow color with a big white head. Aroma is yesty, spices (corriander) fruit (orange). Flavor is fresh, and moderate sweet with a average duration. Nice witbeer. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Jan 3, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy pale yellow colour with a nice big white head. Fresh aroma of yeast and spices with some sourness. Flavour is fresh and yeasty, some lemon, coriander, hint of orange. Nice long aftertaste. A great witbier.
