JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 18, 2006 Hazed, very light straw color with a wispy dissipating white head. Big lemon oil aromas. Just a hint of coriander and sweet wheat. Quite citric from the start a real light suck on a lemon this one has, nearly to the point of having a radler quality. The lemon seem to have a near artificial quality that continues to cling to the mouth and throat throughout the quaff. Quenching perhaps, but this one is actually getting annoying. At first I thought the feel was quite nice, but with the lemon oils sticking around that is starting to slide. Interesting at best. Borup (1345), Albertslund, Denmark Sep 11, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy yellow colour with white head. Wheaty aroma. Flavour is wheat, coriander and fruity Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Sep 10, 2006 750, corked and caged. Lovely pale yellow, cloudy, with a suggestion of green and pink in my mind, good head faded slowly. This is exactly what a wit should look like. Aroma is pleasant, gentle wheat with a good bit of bitter orange, and a hint of coridander. Flavor is light anise intertwined with wheat and orange notes, finishing with slight coriander bitterness. Dry and light on the palate. Highly refreshing, integrated spices, really quite excellent. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Sep 2, 2006 750ml bottle, Tesco. Cloudy straw colour, thin white head. Wheaty nose, coriander and orange (that’ll be the flavourings on the label), hops. Not much else. Flavour is wheaty, slight lemon, very metallic. Slightly sweet. Didn’t enjoy all that much. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Sep 2, 2006 On tap. Pours hazy light golden with a rather large head. Typical belgian wheat beer. Slightly citric with a slight feel of coriander. Some sweetness and a hint of yeast. harrisoni (6704), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 1, 2006 75cl bottle from Tesco. Cloudy old gold colour with thick lasting white head. Yeasty, spicey, orange, coriander, orange peel aroma. Hoegaarden wannabe. Nice, attractive aroma, hit of wheat to start with and then lovely lemon/orange mix to finish with herb and more cereal. This is very refreshing and overall a nice beer of its style. Earlier Rating: 3/24/2006 Total Score: 3.3 Bottle. Cloudy lemon/gold, disappearing white head. Good Belgian white beer aroma. Lemon, cereal, refreshing in mouth. Ticks all the boxes. Not exceptional, but no faults either. Nice tasting wit. I like this style of beer. dj (418), Gloucestershire, England Sep 1, 2006 Bottle, 750ml. A cloudy pale yellow colour with an average head. Light aromas of orange and corriander. Pretty typical taste of wheat, orange and corriander. A citric finish with wheat and moderate sweetness. Light to moderate carbonation. A pretty typical, perfectly acceptable Witbier. Dogbrick (2816), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 30, 2006 Sample at AleFest Dayton: Pours a cloudy pale yellow-gold color with a thin white head that lasts awhile. Thin and slick lacing. The aroma is spicy with cloves, along with some honey and wheat. Light-bodied and crisp with a mildly spicy character, plus citrus and wheat flavor. The finish is wheaty with a bit of hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
