3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Very unclear yellow colour with a nice head. A lot of corians and hints of citrus in the aroma. Very pleasant flavour of corians, orange and some hops, very tasteful. Overall a very easydrinking witbeer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Must start by saying that Iím not the biggest Witbier fan, so I judged this as openly as possible. Tasted from the bottle and poured into a tulip glass. Dull, wheaty yellow body, opaque, with a broad, cauliflower head initially forming but later dwindling back to a lather of soap that left some lace. Soft, fruity sweet, lemon, grapefruit and apple nose with a light hint of fresh herbs and candi-sugar. Not what I expected for the style. Initial champagne-like prickly carbonation moved through into tart white wine notes on the tongue. It quickly mellowed and I could take in some flavour. Quite wheaty and almost starchy with some castor sugar flavour upfront that added sweetness to this ultra-light bodied Wit. Reminded me of lemon squash soda as it was slightly sour and heavily charged in carbonation. Finish was very short and crisp, and overall it was one that just didnít match me. Not my cup of beer anyway. Not the best from this fine brewery!!! (25 & 33cL, both BBE 09/06)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy Hoegaarden-looking. Slight vanilla, some spiciness. Lactic but in a good way that mixed with the banana flavor quite well. Mild finish, just-right mouthfeel. A very good example of a lighter weizen beer. Sweet finish, well-done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle from Asda. Cloudy witbier. Aroma is wheaty, spicy. Flavour is wheaty, fairly sweet with spice and fruit. Not a whole lot going on but a good quality, highly drinkable beer.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle conditioned. A soft, fresh and tasty drinking beer. Just sometimes I get what wheat beers are about. When unfiltered and still living they can be very good indeed. I think itís the filtered and gassed up versions that I find unpleasant. The softness and drinkability of this little number is really quite remarkable. Good one. ****

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A Mes rate:
A decent nose of lemon and spice if a little dusty. It all goes downhill from there on really. Head is over as quick as it forms and when I say over I mean totally vanished, appearance all round is pretty uninviting to be honest. Looks like urine when you are ill. Flavour is initially spritely with a hint of lemon but then that "powdery" stuff comes through and spoils everything. Finish is orangy and more powder. Just nothing to get excited about. Itís better than Stella, thatís about it. It finishes like bottled sparkling water to me. A bit salty and well yes, thatís about it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beer No 34 on the Wilsonsí Road Trip 2005. Falmouth Asda. Cloudy yellow brown with persistant white head. Aroma of lemon, coriander, orange peel. Minerally aftertaste. Very pleasant with more lemon character within the beer than is common for the style.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Quite pale, with thin but persistent head. Nose is lightly spicy/friuty, palate is at first overly acidic, but that mellows and a clean fresh fruit appears, and lingers through to the not unreasonable finish. Good stuff, and while itís not Hoegaarden, itís still a good example of the style. Asda
