Blond, cloudy, milky (colloïdal by cold). The cloudy appearance is created at low temperature but disappears when the beer gets warmer or when it is kept too long in the cold. Fine fruity with a scent of the used spice, coriander and bitter orange. Smooth beer, thirst-quenching but mild, slightly acidulous, powdery consistency on the tongue, not bitter

Bottle from Waitrose. Cloudy, straw colour. Open, lasting, bright white head. Coriander. Light clove. Hint of citrus. Taste has a hint of toffee sweetness, underlying the lightly spiced dryness. Slick, lactic type palate. Slightly clarty finish. Liked it though.

Smaak is citrus, sinaasappel en iets van frisse groene thee met een redelijke zoetheid. Aroma is iets minder heftig, matiger. Erg troebel op witgeel.

My Bottom Line:
Heavyhanded coriander takes control of this standard Witbier, leading oranges and light phenolics into a relatively refreshing experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy beige.
-Coriander is pleasant early on, but gets tiring because it is a tad too intense.
-Drinkability is quite high, as it should be in this style.
-The finish is barely bitter; actually, it would probably benefit from being more hop bitter, a flavour which would be entirely harmonious with the coriander and orange peel.

On tap at Il Santo Bevitore, Venezia.

A very nice example of the style. Very fresh tasting and with a slight citrus finish. Not really my thing, but great beer.

Bottle 0.75L; milky yellow colour, creamy white head, good lacing. Aroma is spicy, a lot of coriander, lemon and some yeast. Flavor is light, refreshing, yeasty, citrus zest, coriander, a bit acidic with quite dry finish. Light body. Perfect summer refreshing and enjoyable witbier.

Bottle from Waitrose Balham. Colour is pale cloudy amber yellow, large bright white foam head which dissipates to thin with nice lacing up the glass. Nose is wheat grain, lemon, touch of citrous lemon sour, some spice, possibly clove, nutmeg, coriander. Taste is a wheaty, lemon bitter and slightly sour, spicy clove and coriander whitbier. Not getting any orange. It’s all crisp lemon sour and wheat. On the finish there’s a slight sour lemon kick, slight creaminess. Once its warmed up it has a really nice aromatic floral finish.
