COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blond, cloudy, milky (colloïdal by cold). The cloudy appearance is created at low temperature but disappears when the beer gets warmer or when it is kept too long in the cold. Fine fruity with a scent of the used spice, coriander and bitter orange. Smooth beer, thirst-quenching but mild, slightly acidulous, powdery consistency on the tongue, not bitter

Bottle, 0.75 l. Pale yellow with a clear white head. Aroma wasn’t very confident, but taste is good, typical for a wit, with a bit more lemon. Refreshing and easy to drink. No special finish. A very nice beer, although a little unbalanced.

A cloudy straw yellow colour. Tastes very aromatic to me, possibly a hint of rose in there.

Bottle at 100 piv. Aroma fresh citrusy fruity. Lemony, orange. Juicy. Hazy yellow colour. Relatively stable white head. Taste is lightly sourish, citrusy, light lemony. Noticeable but not overpowering amount of coriander and orange peel. High carbonation, refreshing, easily drinkable. Very good.

0.33l tynkäpullo. Iso hutera kuohuva vaahto, todella iso hapotus, tuttu vehnäisä makea tuoksu, kuohuvan hapokas raikas suutuntuma, lämpöisenä asteen hapanta. Ihan jeppiskamaa.

Aroma: Medium-high coriander. Medium-light citrus. Appearance: Milky, light-straw body. Massive white head. Good retention. Flavour: Medium-light tartness, citrus zest, coriander. Mouthfeel: Medium-Light body. Medium-high carbonation, smooth. Overall: Very nice! The coriander is a bit too overpowering on the aroma. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 16A. Witbier

Bottle shared by solidgunk (typo, but it’s funny so I’m keeping it) at the WWWW Mid Atlantic Summer Beer Tasting. Hazy straw, large foamy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of yeast, orange peel, spice. The taste is yeast, wheat, spice, orange peel. Medium bodied, high carbonation.

Maker: Brasserie Du Bocq, Purnode-Yvoir, Belgium *** Beer: Blanche de Namur (bottle-conditioned, 750ml) *** Style: Witbier (cloudy wheat) *** ALC.VOL.: 4.5% *** "Blond, cloudy, milky (colloïdal by cold). The cloudy appearance is created at low temperature but disappears when the beer gets warmer or when it is kept too long in the cold. Fine fruity with a scent of the used spice, coriander and bitter orange. Smooth beer, thirst-quenching but mild, slightly acidulous, powdery consistency on the tongue, not bitter." [brewery notes] *** Colour: Bright yellow hazy, with a big, creamy white head. *** Nose: Sweetish orange, just a hint of coriander, some toasted malt, yeast. *** Texture: Light to medium-bodied, not too watery, moderate carbonation. *** Taste: A light citrus fruitiness at the start (and throughout), complemented by yeasty flavour and only nuances of coriander. Quite dry. More yeasty towards the middle, with light floral notes, the citrus, and a wee hint of coriander. The latter is a little stronger in the finish, but still very moderate, with citrus again being the winner. Aftertaste is slightly sour, very mildly bitter. *** Impressions: Not as characterful a whitbier as my (and most people’s) favorite, Hoegaarden, but easy-drinking. The light citrus notes are very appealing, but the coriander could have a stronger impact - and there’s not much else. Uncomplicated beer, especially for a Belgian one.

Light basil and some florals. Light sweet finish. Interesting and drinkable. Bottle I got free from the Belgian embassy on embassy day.
