3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From tap @ Stodddard’s Fine Food & Ale, Boston (MA). Blond, hazy with an amber lining. Small head. Nose: modest, citrus but also something spicy. Taste: very bitter, lemon and dry. Aftertaste: dry, where bitterness dominates but not too agressive. Overall a nice IPA with first a surprising aftertaste, but an uncomplex dry and bitter feeling quickly takes over.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Pioneer brewing. Pours golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of lightly citrusy and floral hops plus a light caramel and pale maltiness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the best IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 22 fl.oz. bottle marked 051413. I am not sure if this is a bottling date or an expiration date. The pour is a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a good white head. The aroma is full of earthy and floral hops along with a maltiness and barley grain. The body is light to medium. The taste is more hoppy than anything else. You get a quick biscuit malt character but then the hops really take over and linger right up to the very end.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huh. On the label, it’s written that this was brewed & bottled in Williamsburg, MA. So which is it? Purchased at Leary’s for $5.00 exactly for the 22 OZ. bottle. To snifter, it pours a light golden amber: sudsy, off-white ringed head half a fingernail in length. Strong aromas of limes, pilsner malt, sawdust, chamomile tea, pine sap, American hops, and honey-flavored vitamins. Tastes of pilsner malt, limes, sawdust, and California yeast. Some pine hop bitterness and orange blossom honey by swallow. Unremarkable, but fun.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Lots of bittersweet citrus on the aroma, seems unbalanced. Hazy yellow, plenty of activity and good retention. Very bitter taste, minor sweetness, no real malt presence to speak of. Crispy lighter body. Comes off as the farm team version of the ’Use By’ IPA I tried a few weeks back.
