UPDATED: APR 20, 2012 Rated 4.5 on 11/20/2011. On tap at Lord Hobo - Cambridge, MA. There are those beer moments, when you’re in the right place at the right time and the beer gods shine down on you from heaven with big smiles and amazing beer. I would gladly trade an entire future of all the IPAs (not double IPAs) I might ever drink to have this one beer at hand for the rest of my life. Dank lemony fresh hop aroma. Clean, crisp snappy dry hop resin flavors. This is so drinkable and so flavorful and so palatable, and so perfect. Why would I ever want some carameled, iced-tea flavored, big boozy sweet IPA, when I could have this? Amazing, amazing, amazing hoppy session beer.

Rated 3.2 on 4/18/2012. 22oz Bottle purchased at Julio’s Liquors - Westborough, MA. I don’t know what made it into this bottle, but it wasn’t what I had on draft at Lord Hobo. It was a watered down, thin, hopless, yeast bomb. Cloudy, with minimal malt structure and almost no hop presence. WTF?

Malt, fruit, grass, and citrus in the aroma. Flavor starts sweet with some caramel. Fruity bittering hops in the finish. Good, tasty summer beer.

A light golden brew. Decent carbonation. The first few sips of this were kinda bland and boring. After a while this one develops nicely. Very smooth drinking, but with a good spice-hop aroma. Flavor is lightly bitter with a touch of sweetness. To me though, a session beer must come in 12 oz bottles and be drunk directly from the bottle.

Has the subtle citrus hop aroma of an American pale. Golden near-amber color, pretty good lacing. Mainly sweet grainyness, some bitter contrast. Low gravity feel that makes this incredibly drinkable, though not all that fulfilling. I would call this an extra light IPA.

22 oz. bottle from Table and Vine for $5.99. Served in a lager glass. Clear pale color with frothy, white head with lots of retention. Nose is grassy hops and hay. Taste has malt up front with a pine / grassy hops flavor near the backend. Lightly bitter finish with pine or Earthy hop making the mouthfeel relatively dry. This is the most solid Golden Ale/Blond Ale I’ve sampled to date. Easy drinking and enjoyed much.

very good session ale here, has moderate hops, a little bit of wheatyness in the mouthfeel, very tasty and well balanced, excellent drinker!

Bomber. Pours a pale yellow with a white head. The low ABV makes for a great session beer but the low taste does not. It’s OK but rather bland and gives off an unpleasant metallic aftertaste after it warms up a bit.

A dear young man, out of the kindness of his heart sent me this beer, they call him Lushawn.

This is a very pretty looking glass of beer. The color is a deep golden, almost orange, the head is very white, very tight, medium sized, and successful at leaving lace on the glass.

The beer is very aromatic, most of what’s going on in the nose is centered around this very clean very toasty malt character, there are some herbal hops in there as well and a bit of nuttiness... perhaps a smattering of floral character. But that clean toasty maltiness is not one that in my experience is usually utilized particularly well, but it takes center stage here and that is (apparently) a good place for it to be.

I love the hoppiness of this beer, the floral and herbal hops are the primary flavor here, think of the hop character in Sam Adams Noble Pils but it’s punchier & even better integrated with this beer. The malt character matches the hops in a very enjoyable way, the toastiness from the aroma is more subdued in the flavor but this lets some nice very light honey sweetness and bready malt character.

The body is a little thin, but I sort of think that that’s just not a problem here as much as it’s sort of awesome, like the beer is begging you to drink more. The carbonation is low, but it’s right on for what’s happening in the flavor of this beer, this beer only needs that light spritz of carbonation to be easily and enjoyably carried across the palate.

Really quite nice, it’s beers like this that remind me how much is out there that I just don’t know about yet. It’s not a surprise that I’ve never heard of this beer, it’s just a shame I don’t have more of it.

Split a bomber of this one poured into a tulip glass. Aroma is wheat light malty earthy character with little to no hop aroma. Taste is more of the same with an overly grassy/hay malt taste that really needs some hop presence to cut through. I understand this is a session ale and it certainly is drinkable and crisp but adding more/different hops would give this a more balanced taste/aroma without affecting its session ale label.

Bomber, some corn and adjunts in the aroma. Light flavors, a little boring and off. Not a fan
