Old dirty dishes, trash, jockstrap on the nose. San pellegrino soaked in dirty laundry on the mouth. Blech.

Aroma is light citrus, yeast and grains. The flavor is malts, slightly metallic and a mildly tart finish.

Draft. Pours a clear, pale gold. Not much in way of aroma. Taste of grains and skunk. Light bidied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and no finish. Iverall, not cery good.

Another oldtimer that was less than stellar way back when and hasn’t improved much with age.

Can. I wanted to try all the classic milwaukee beers. Not great not terrible.

Blatz has a thick, white head and a clear, bubbly, straw appearance, with minimal associated lacing. The aroma is of sweet, musty grains, and the flavor is of grass, sweet grain, and a touch of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Blatz finishes crisp and dry. Overall, this is very good, and I recommend giving it a try. RJT

Plain, but okay. A good, standard "old man beer" if ever there was one. Folks I know classify this with brews like PBR, Stroh’s, and Schlitz - decent, basic beers that are affordable, "taste like beer," and are better than malt liquors or crap like bud lite. Unoffensive but not tasteless - you get a touch of malt and a hint of hops to go with your corn/adjunct. If one were to rate all American-style macros, this would likely be somewhere in the type third or quarter. A problem is that it is only available here in 15-packs of cans.

So this is a thing now. I haven’t seen this in Chicago yet, so I’m guessing it’s some initiative to introduce more sub brands to the market. It’s a bit more expensive than PBR, but on tap for about $2. It’s fairly innocuous: mild straw and vinyl taste. Quite unforgettable. Cheap. Lots of sugar corn flavor.

Aroma of overcooked vegetables. Check. Weak piss yellow sickly hue. Check weak slightly semi-so sweet corny body with a dirty clumsy finish. Check. You are holding a Blatz. So sorry.

Can at Reggie’s. Another of the old school, granddad brands. Pale yellow with a dissipating head. Nose is corny and generic, but in a good way. Reminds me of the smell of ’beer.’ On taste, pretty robust flavor profile, soft pils notes and some maize. Soft bitterness. Nothing showy, but not bad at all.
