UPDATED: JAN 6, 2005 Blatz is good beer when compared with others in its price range. Has a nice full flavor when compared with bud light or natty. It has a decent frothy head with a mild body and light smooth hop finish. Nice average beer that doesn’t need to be analyzed to be enjoyed.

For being such a cheap beer it is actually not that bad. It is great beer for a weekend bender. You can drink quite a few and not have to worry about those tiresome headaches. In all seriousiness, for a cheap water downed beer you could do a lot worse

Phillybeer2112, thanks for bringing this to the throwdown. Pours yellow, clear and grainy, like it should be. Taste is the same.

The beer that got me through college. If you can get beyond the smell this can be a great cheap beer to get you your fill. This beer finishes well and is light enough to drink several in a sitting.

On tap at Cindy B’s, Clintonville, WI. You must drink it on tap to appreciate it. Also loses it’s allure as it warms up, so drink it quickly while it’s cold. The aroma is not that appealing, but the taste is quite a bit better than many other "low end" beers. It’s more than worth a try if you can find it on tap!

This beer sustained me through collage, so it will always have a special place in my heart and I will still have this at occations when friend show up - like this Saturday for the Aloma Bowl - Good Luck Bucky!. Light straw color with a tall white head. Sweet floral/corn aroma. Light malt and lots of corn flavors. Light flavor hops that are quite good if you look for them. As the ad used to say "America’s great true light beer". Ah memories. There really are some malt flavors.

A tasty beer. It doesn’t taste all that great. But it tastes like something, though. It tastes like beer, damnit, good ole ’merican beer. Better than most cheapo lagers and some premiums too. It might be yellow and fizzy but at least it’s memorable.

For cheap beer, an alright purchase. Flavor is the best quality, but they don’t quite redeem the horrible palette. Its not exactly smooth going down.
