Bouteille (7,5dl): Pale golden to golden, hazy, big loose and lacy white head, that slowly collapses; moderate fruity (kind of orangey) and yeasty nose with grains and peaceful hops in the background; moderate dryish, but not really dry, bitter-sweet flavour; medium bodied and smooth; gets drier and more hoppier ( some illusions of the promised " noble" hops are detectable) in the fruity and yeasty finish. A goody...

Jun. ’16. A 0.75 l bottle that poured hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Fine hop aroma, amarillo - flowery, light sweet orange, lightly yeast and a bit peppery. Flavor, on the other hand was a disappointment. Lightly yeasty and lightly paper and herbal bitter, with that light bitterness retaining to the very end of the aftertaste but with nothing really to counterweight it. Not the bitterness itself which was just weak. Vague sweetness might have included some sugar/honey notes, and fruits with spices, but that’s already far into the imagination. Highly carbonated, as these usually get, which emphasized the little bit of body, but basically I’ve ended up with diluted yeast in the mineral water, touched with some aroma that affected it minimally. And my scores here are a big push. Oh, saisons...

Drunk many times, usually from Salt Horse or Cornelius. A fantastic saison that really rewards every time I have it.

Très classique, buvable mais rien de grandiose. Nez ultra levure. Bouche du même acabit, léger houblonnage pour donner un peu plus de caractère. Basta.

750 ml bottle shared at Öla. Hazy golden with big white head. Aroma is yeasty, peppery, pale malt, some sweet notes. Taste is malty and estery, yeast, white pepper, some faint tart notes, slight herby with faint sweet notes. Finish is yeasty with a sticky lasting bitterness.

750ml bottle (Pothouse, Tallinn)
Horrible yeast settling lines along the length of the bottle, absolutely no way to pour this clear. Eventually managed to fit most of it into 1.7L of glasses it frothed so much (mostly as it fissed as soon as it touched the yeast in the neck). I shouldn’t have to fight a beer in order to get it into glass. Pale, slight haze. frothy briefish head. Rather nice funky aroma, fairly classic classy belgian saison, has a nice characterful wheaty graininess, a gentle sweetness, some white grape must, a pleasant sharpness. Aggressively carbonated palate, every sip yields 4 burps. Taste matches the aroma, it’s a nice crisp saison, the malts are pleasantly bready, and there’s a nice dry woody funk, some brackeny undergrowth. Nice dry bitterness, does leave me wanting another sip. Good beer spoilt by yeast. Had that in some Alvinnes too, a shame.

Keg at Salt Horse. Pours pale yellow, light haze, thin white head. Aromas of clove, very estery. Taste is more clove, light bread, light salty note. Bit one-dimensional, but not bad.

Bottle from HF. This is a really traditional saison with a light touch of American hops. It’s seriously effervescent and bubbly, and there are a lot of banana and clove esters from the Belgian yeast. I’ve heard some people say this is "boring." No way -- this is straightforward and perfectly executed.
