Hazy burnished gold with frenetic carbonation and lazy lolloping fluffy white head. Foam is lemon peel and sweet candy sugar. Rich yeast esters and Clementine on nose. Full bodied, gentle carbonation, yeast esters, dry herbal bitterness and pithy finish.

75 cl bottle decanted into a jug, then to a balloon. Very nice aroma, floral with some bubblegum. Pours with a massive white head, beer is a slightly hazy yellow. Taste has slight initial sweetness, leading quickly to a very bitter beer. Medium body, good carbonation (the cork escapes with some force!) and a bitter finish. Overall a very good beer bucking the usual sweet watery texture of many wheat beers and with a clever hopping that does not overpower.

Hazy golden color with a large, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toast, earthy yeast, spice, floral hops, light citrus. Taste of toast, earth, some spicy yeast, citrus, and a bitter hop note in the finish.

Bottle popped really well with an awesome traditional looking label. Pours cloudy lemon unclear with a nice white head. Aroma brings a nice funky saison yeast followed by skunky hops so great in the nose. The flavor of unique grainy spelt and light piney hops with a bitter and yeast blended ending all on a great body.

Collaboration with Hill Farmstead in 2013, spelt beer and the first new Blaugies brew in years so I looked forward to taste it. Rocky, thick, yellowish white head, cloudy golden blonde colour. Very saison aroma, jute, hay, barnyard, dry sherry, green apple, hemp, grass, sweat, lemon zest. Dry fruity taste, apple, bitter honey, soft maltiness, grassy and citrussy, complex hop bitterness in the finish. Very appetizing but somehow I expected more from this.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a murky pale gold with a huge white head. Was a small gusher. Aroma of fruit, yeast, and spice. Taste is citrus, funk, grass, and spice. Very nice.

Hill’s Farmstead & Blaugies. A very pale straw gold with a solid foamy white head. Fruity bready wheaty spicy farmhouse saison aroma. Wonderfully soft round mouthfeel with a sparkling effervescence. The taste is bitter dry spicy saison character pretty much a perfect saison.

From the corked, caged 750 ml green bottle. The pour is pale yellow with a fizzy white head and champagne-like carbonation. I had hoped the green bottle would lead to a skunky aroma but unfortunately it did. But I also picked up a nice dose of toasted bread, yeast, citrus, and spice. Light to medium body. The taste has a slight wild ale bite to it, which is to be expected for a Saison. Lots of breaded character too. Lemongrass and citrus zing.

Great beer. Carbonation was aggressive; it looked very rustic, yellow a bit clearer than I expected. Cirsp, some barnyard funk. Mouthfeel was crisp, with some hop bitterness, and some funk from the brett. I enjoyed this better quite cold, actually. Delicious stuff, as was to be expected.

[My bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o Glouglouburp] Pours a murky yellow-gold with a huge fluffy white head and minimal lacing. Nice aroma, herbal and hoppy along with some citrus, spices and light funkiness. Flavour’s the same, herbal and hoppy, citrusy and spicy, but with more yeast. Average to medium bodied. Just lovely stuff.
