750mL bottle, best before 2018. Another truely delectable saison from Hill Farmstead, in collaboration with Blaugies. Snow white head over a light yellow body. Aromas of cirrus, spices, powdery stone fruits. In the mouth, big farmhouse character, with several layers of flavours. Quite a rare complexity! I pick out some fruits, followed by a flow of straw, wet barn, to finish with a refreshing hoppy bitterness. What a beer!

Very murky dark orange. Aroma is moderately phenolic, flavour is horrible. Infection?

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy yellow light brown with a small off white head. Aroma seems off, medicinal, elastaplast over peppery saison yeast and citrus. This surely must be a bad bottle. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to Kermis. Pours murky golden with a fast dissipating head. Aroma is medicinal, sulfate, grainy, some citrus and grassy. Might be off. Fermentation gone wrong? Moderate bitter. Rather dry. Peppery. Sadly too overwhelming with band aid.

75cl bottle at home. Beautiful hazy straw colour, quickly building white foamy head. Complex but incredibly balanced belgian yeasty spices (pepper and koriander) and vanilla/banana, floral, some funky and musty farmhouse tones, lightly tard, grainy malts, faint American hops and champagne-like mouthfeel, body and lingering but dry finish. Not a big saison-afficionado but this is a great ale.

Top !
