On tap at Kick. A hazy orange colored beer topped by a small off-white head. Oranges, pine cones, some yeast and pale malts on the nose. A nice bitterness in the flavor, with fruityness.dominating. Some herbal and yeasty hints, with a fruity, herbal and yeasty finish. A strange one this one, sure lovely, but the yeast impact is too big. Still I have no problem drinking more than one glass of it. There’s also something resembling tap line rinse here, lightly chemical, don’t think it’s the lines though. Will return. 141016

Hazy, light tan. Aroma is big dusty saison yeast...lots of Blaugies on this one. Complex and the hops are a bit herbal as well. Has a fair bit of the dusty old barn yeast character, and a fair bit of pale malt sweetness. Fairly big body for the style. Effervescent, burpy. Hops lend a lot of dryness. I wouldn’t even pick it out as amarillo...the beer has a pretty strong Blaugies character. Once the yeast goes in the glass, the beer is softer...the yeast actually mellows and more sugars come out, contrary to expectations. Some of the hop is washed out of the finish as well.

Bottle shared at the Stouts III & Other Tasting - London. Many thanks to Kenneth. Pours cloudy, bright yellow-gold with a large, fluffy white head; looks beautiful. Pretty classic saison nose, plenty of dry dough, hay and grass, hints of lemon peel. Light to medium sweet flavor with some sturdy offsetting bitterness, dry grass, straw, some cereal and dough. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Dry, fairly clean and quite bitter to finish, more dry grass and straw, hard dough, hints of white sugar. Pretty darn tasty overall but a little too bitter to be great.
