La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers’ family. It is a classic "saison" beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavors and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.

Debt dark golden haze but visible carbonation and a lovely white cap. Nose is creamy dusty spice and straw. Initial taste is creamy lemon pepper and soft zest. Very firm carbonation and peppery yet creamy mouthfeel. Finishes bright bright chalky lemon and a bit sickly yeasty linger. Pear. Loads of pear then.

More Belgian yeast leaning than most saisons these days. Golden pour, slightly hazy. Zesty and a touch musty, w clove and stone fruit.

Bottle at The Capital, Leuven. Aroma of spicy yeast, some funk, malt, dried fruits, hint of caramel, floral notes. Flavour is light sweet and a bit tart. Finish is rather dry. Has a nice complexity.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a large frothy off white head with good retention. Nose is slightly sweet with notes of fruit and berries; raspberry, peach, candied orange, hay, dry grass. Same thing goes for the flavour, it has some candied fruit, pear, flowers, raspberries, apricot, light pepper, hayloft, musty. So much going on. Medium body, initial sweetness is lifted by the fluffy prickling carbonation and the finish is light bitter and dry with lingering fruity notes. Very enjoyable.

Been awhile. Light, hazy golden pour. Big white head that quickly falls. Plenty of lacing. Aroma is slightly hoppy, slightly. Funky lemony note. Yeast taste with some of the citrus notes coming through. Okay. I guess.
