COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers’ family. It is a classic "saison" beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavors and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.

May ’16. A 0.75 l bottle that poured hazy orange body with a big head. Nice fruity aroma, mostly peach and lemon with a touch of yeast. Flavor was lightly sweet, too, fruity, yeasty (although not as much as it could be judged by thick bottle sediment) and only lightly peppery hoppy. Highly carbonated with occasional metallic and muddy yeast notes. Thin to medium bodied with moderately long finish. Alcohol was not felt at all, making it really easy going and dangerously refreshing even on a hot summer day like this. One of the tastier Saisons around, for sure, almost like an average "Belgian ale" proper to be ironic. Or just objective? :) Anyway, it was fine.

W aromacie jako pierwszy uderza... skunks zielonobutelkowy! No przykro mi bardzo. Poza tym przyprawy, pachnie nieco korzennie. W smaku mamy już rasowego saisona z dobrą owocowością, przyprawami i niską goryczką. Nieco skopany.

Bottle from Geers, Gent - BE. Color: hazy golden blond beer with medium carbonation and small white foam. Smell: nice grassy and saison yeast notes. Good malt balance. Taste: medium body with good grassy and saison yeast. Nice floral balance. Good attenuation and really nice beer. Aftertaste: astringent and saison. Grassy and sweet finish. Really nice!

Yellow with proper head. Aroma is lilac, bitter, wood, some spices, sourness. Taste is bitter and quite follows the aroma. Maybe even more lilac and grass. Very nice!

75cl bottle from Beergium. Pours a hazy orange with a huge, semi-fizzy, off white head. Aroma has some sweet wheaty malts and a light caramel malt. dry, spicy yeast, earthy hops, maybe some brett, hay. Taste is super dry, but has a light malty sweetness, tiny acidity. Super high carbonation that "hides" any oily textures.
