A little surprised by some of the ratings. Not the best beer I have had, but better than a lot. Not a huge amount of complex flavours, but enjoyable.

Bought and drinking in Barcelona. Pours up almost completely flat. Almost no carbonation at all. Aroma has some spicy Belgian yeast notes along with malt. No hops. Plastic phenol character in aroma and flavor is not pleasant and conflicts with a moderately bitter finish. They didn’t seem to know what they wanted to do with this beer. It’s all over the place and the flavors and aromas don’t really work very well together. Their site says European Pale Lager, not English Pale Ale. This tastes nothing like a lager.

12-JUL-2013, bottle @hotel room in Salou, Spain, from Alcampo. Sligth gusher. 3/4 yellow head on murky orange/brown body. Head resides and leaves a lasting lacing creamy top. Aroma is yeast, malt, bread, toast, caramel. Taste is very spicy, yeast and malts with caramel and toast. Carbonation is violent and body is medium. Finish is hoppy bittter. A little rough but tasty.

Amber color body, slightly hazy. Head is minimal and white. Aroma remembers of cookies and maybe honey. Body is moderate, carbonation is moderate; finish is dry and slighty sour. Taste is mainly malty with hints of sour. Not very original but correct.

Bottle in Barcelona, 6.1%ABV. Amber beer, slow bubbles. Rich caramel aroma. Toffee flavour, a little burned sugar. A well hopped version of this would have been welcome.

330ml bottle (One Pint Pub, Helsinki, Spanish Weeks 2011)
6 Fruity noble hop aroma, malts come over as a little lagery
3 Clear rich orange, tiny head.
5 Touch fruity sourness, spike estery peaks. Plenty of hops, but they’re fighting the odder elements and losing.
3 Smooth palate, OK carbonation. Finish has almondy lagery malts, but hopping and esters that are more familiar in an ale context
11 weird one. slight sourness spoilt it, but it was packed full of interesting flavours, so that’s a shame. 90% sure this is a lager not an ale. What’s "baixa" fermentation?
