Draught at the brewpub, very dark brown with a thick and foamy light beige head. A strong coffee malt aroma. A bitter palate, flavours of coffee and smoked wood. Finished with a bit of sweetness, and maybe just a little watery.

Deep dark stout, lightly translucent with a creamy thin moka head. The aroma is faint, with some coffee notes. In mouth, lactic notes and thin, a bit boring overall, and served too warm. On tap, May 2006.

On draught at Pilgrim bar. Opaque, with a thin tan head from the nitrogen. Full mouthfeel and medium body, with a pronounced dark malts flavor and very dry finish. No off-flavors, just not very well-rounded

Black with nitro head, but in this case it is not used to cover up for a pathetically thin body. Nice coffee and roasted caramel flavour. Balanced bitterness tastes more of roast malt than hops. Finish is smooth, with enough body. Good enough, though not inspiring.
