Jokes (1449), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 9, 2007 Seemingly a (fairly) new beer Blest. Slightly hazy amber with a thin, white head. Nitro-tap. Mostly sweet, slightly sour nose. Biscuits, caramel, popcorn, light hop oil, whole grains and some light bubblegum. The body is smooth and light bodied with all the trappings of the nitrotap. The flavor is on the sweeter side, but definitely not cloying by any means. The hops provide a modicum of bitterness, but nothing like I’m used to in the style. Unfortunately, a little boring and bland.
TheGrandMaster (1434), Auckland, New Zealand Nov 8, 2007 Draught at the brewpub (called Scotch), a cloudy light copper with a foamy white head. A sweetish malty aroma of caramal. Smooth palate, gets more tart as you swallow. Malty background to the more fruity hop flavour. Just not my type of beer this, but nice enough.
