brewrater (88), akron, Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2004 A quality beer from the now closed Akron area brewery. The brewery was actually increasing distribution to area taverns for on tap and I was seeing it more and more in bottles in area stores. Another good craft brewery fallen victim to the economics in the world of Cheap Watery Beer Company. (AKA SAB, Interbrew, and AB). Specifically, this is full flavored (esp. the malt) and stronger than most in this style. thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 31, 2003 Thanbks to Dogbrick for providing me with the opportunity to rate this beer. This brew poured a very large head of mostly diminishing finely sized light brown colored bubbles that left behind a hazy carbonated brown colored body and a fair lacing. Thje aroma was a nice malty one with some spiceyness hidden within it. The mouthfeel was smooth bubbly and thin. The flavor was that of malt and spice. It was refined, refreshing and different. hotstuff (3045), Indiana, USA Oct 25, 2003 A very easy drinking beer that goes down very smooth with a good balance to it. It poured a large sized tan creamy head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. The hue was copper and the nose was malty, caramel and sweet. It had a sweet, caramel and a hint of tanginess to the flavor from start to finish . The mouthfeel was very, very smooth, a little tingly, thin textured and light bodied. There was very little lacing with this beer. I would definitely drink this one again if given the opportunity. jah noth (940), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 19, 2003 Beautiful auburn appearance with a caramel nutty aroma. Strong malt flavor with a hint of molasses and lingering sweetness. Slight amount of hops on the tongue. This is a style I enjoy and this is a fine beer. uvajed (109), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 6, 2003 A very good alt. Brewed locally to me, so maybe I am biased, but I could drink this stuff any time. Kind of nutty, maybe smoky, but easy to drink. Worth at least trying if you can find it.
