JohnC (1777), Mission Viejo, California, USA Dec 22, 2002 Clear copper color, w/ an interestingly sweet nose. Nice rounded up front flavor w/ a slightly hoppy finish. Great balance. Schroppfy (1741), Ohio, USA Apr 6, 2003 Moderately carbonated with tiny bubbles. A perfect reddish light brown, quite clear. Overall a wonderful appearance. Aroma is deeply malt sweet, earthy. Taste is all Alt: A bit smoky, molasses, nuttiness, sweet malt, very little hop bitterness except for a fairly snappy close. Palate is traditionally thin. A fantastic Alt, one I wanted to try, and I owe deep thanks to an RB friend who sent it out of his own accord. Damn I love this place. TheOrange (361), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 23, 2002 Very fruity armoa. Nice dark brown color. I had this out of a bottle, I will have to try it on tap since I’m a local, and it had meger head at best. This a smooth beer with a light finish. This was a much better beer then I was expecting. I will have to give their other brews a shot. Darkover (1229), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 13, 2003 Amber color with a small head. Malt aroma and flavor. Tangy finish. Pretty good. Thanks Dogbrick. Dogbrick (2348), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2002 Updated: Mar 30, 2004What a wonderfully balanced beer. I was not expecting much from a beer from the Rubber City (tires, you pervert). The beer is a dark brown with an amber tint. Thick and rather foamy beige head. Nice malt and caramel flavor but it is not overpoweringly sweet. This is all nicely contrasted with a hops kick. The finish is lively and nicely hopped. I lament the loss of this fine beer, and the fact that it was never available to me locally.
