Brewed Grodziskie style, with wheat smoked over oak at the brewery.

Courtesy of nimbleprop, thank you sir! Hazy very pale yellow, fluffy white head. Really nice juicy aroma, but I can’t read my handwriting well enough to know why I liked it so much. The taste is earthy with a soft sourness on a nice background of campfire.

50cl bottle pours a hazy, lemony yellow with some fading, white head. Nose has plenty of smoke, very oaky, a little mesquite-y too, some burnt wheat chaff, some bright salinity, a little bit like a barbecued oyster. Flavor has bright lemon, plenty of vitamin C, smoke is second really to the acid, mild straw. Bright, acidic finish. Interesting for the style.

12 oz bottle shared by nimbleprop at the DC Local Tasting. Hazy yellow with light off-white head. Aromas of smoke and oak. Tastes of smoke, big tart notes, vinegar, lemons. Light body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. Pretty surprising tartness in the taste given I didn’t really detect it in the aroma.

Really nice - does a wonderful job of bringing various elements together. Smoke well-integrated, with lots of tart passion fruit or lemon in the aroma. Hazy yellow pour without much head or lacing. Thanks to Andy for this one.

Smoke, brisket, light crabapple undetone. Milky yellow, headless. Tart crabapple, lemon on front, surge of smoke on the back. Light body, pleasant level of tartness. Exemplary.

12oz bottle. Poured a hazy white yellow color with a small wispy white head. Flavor was pretty nice tart notes, with some light salt. Enjoyable.

Bottle thanks Tom. Pours hazy orange with light soapy head. Nose is big time BBQ and some fruit. Tastes of smoked wheat, lots of kiebalsa, lemon, lime, and wood. Lively palate and tar finish. The hammyness lingers. While first sip is a bit much it gets better and better as you enjoy.

Bottle thanks to Jason. Pours yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of beef jerky, BBQ pit, smoked pork, smoked banana, smoked wheat, smoked wood and lightly soured wheat. The smoke is perfect - not overdone, but very smoky. None of the "off notes" that some smoked beers acquire. Tons of fresh BBQ, smoked pork and jerky. Lighter than medium body. A total home run.

Pours unclear lemon white very hazy with white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma brings lebanon baloney, tons of that smokey meat flavor, kielbasa, crazy. The flavor brings a beautiful tart acidity that goes down so smooth on the palate with a decent sweet yeasty ending. It is a bit dry, but not too dry at all, so nice!

Totally unexpected winner here. Grabbed a couple bottles in Huntington, LI and had no idea how much I would love this beer. Think smoked berliner weisse, with a hint of beef jerky and you have Vlad the Inhaler. Pale straw in color with a thin bright white head. Smoky aroma. Taste is incredible, as it has a sour tartness that goes so well for the style. Very drinkable and for everything that is going on, the flavor does not linger one bit. Very refreshing and a must try if you like smoked beers.
