Courtesy of nimbleprop, thank you sir! Hazy very pale yellow, fluffy white head. Really nice juicy aroma, but I can’t read my handwriting well enough to know why I liked it so much. The taste is earthy with a soft sourness on a nice background of campfire.

Bottle. Golden / yellow color with an averaged sized head. Initially I was getting some band-aids in the aromas. Smoke, wheat, woody, fruity and some some funk. Another different and nice.

Bottle thanks to Jason. Pours yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of beef jerky, BBQ pit, smoked pork, smoked banana, smoked wheat, smoked wood and lightly soured wheat. The smoke is perfect - not overdone, but very smoky. None of the "off notes" that some smoked beers acquire. Tons of fresh BBQ, smoked pork and jerky. Lighter than medium body. A total home run.

50cl bottle pours a hazy, lemony yellow with some fading, white head. Nose has plenty of smoke, very oaky, a little mesquite-y too, some burnt wheat chaff, some bright salinity, a little bit like a barbecued oyster. Flavor has bright lemon, plenty of vitamin C, smoke is second really to the acid, mild straw. Bright, acidic finish. Interesting for the style.

12oz bottle. Poured a hazy white yellow color with a small wispy white head. Flavor was pretty nice tart notes, with some light salt. Enjoyable.

Really nice - does a wonderful job of bringing various elements together. Smoke well-integrated, with lots of tart passion fruit or lemon in the aroma. Hazy yellow pour without much head or lacing. Thanks to Andy for this one.

Location: Sampled at Where the Wild Beers Are, 6/7/14

Aroma: The aroma is smokey and sour, oak, plenty of meat, and some sour wheat
Appearance: It pours a hazed yellow-golden color with a nice head and decent lacing as well
Flavor: Just a great mix of the smokey flavors and the sour wheat, really works nicely
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with a solid drinkability, a smokey finish
Overall Impression: I was impressed by this one. I quite enjoyed how the whole combination works. Its pretty unique as well. Well done here.

Smoke, brisket, light crabapple undetone. Milky yellow, headless. Tart crabapple, lemon on front, surge of smoke on the back. Light body, pleasant level of tartness. Exemplary.

22 oz. bottle at the Bellport Charity Dinner. I was very surprised by the pour of this beer. I know it is a wheat beer, but with a name like Vlad the Inhaler, I was expecting something dark and mysterious. This beer is probably the most densely opaque ale I have come across and is approximately the color of banana flesh with a moderate white head. Pretty cool looking actually. Pleasant aroma of very mild smoke along with some wheat grain. The flavor is in a word, excellent. It begins with lemon and bitter orange and is followed by a wash of mellow wood smoke. Mild bitterness at the finish. Light-medium bodied. Between the Hellsmoke Porter and now this beer, and I have to say this brewer excels at smoked beers. Well done!

I’ve been looking for this for a while. I really love reproductions of beer recipes throughout history. The pour is very opaque yellow, slight orange, like an unripened peach, white head. The aroma is mild smoke., light fruit, banana, bubblegum. The flavor is smoke, sour lemon, cereal grains, very nice. Medium, slightly thin in body. The finish is very light smoke, salt, almost no hoppiness to speak of, just a mild bittering, like weak noble hops. Excellent beer, unique and interesting. Glad I finally got to try this.
