Draft on tap at Great Taste of the Midwest 2011 (Madison, WI). Pours a nice deeper copper hue, well hazed with a frothy offwhite head dies to a cream film, good lacing. Aromas are souir cherries and red wine vinegar, a bit acidic with a touch of oak, toffee, and caramel, and biscuits. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied with some good fruit, cherries, and sweet malts. Biscuits, bread, toffee. Some wet oak, into the middle touches of vinegar come into play, acidic with some toffee, really a lot of vanilla barrel tannins come into play. Finish is lingering cherry, sweet malts, and toffee. Some vinegar and touches of red wine. Pretty nice. A nice effort by Bling Pig here on a sour. Good flavors but not really balanced.
