On tap at the brewpub. Came poured with a small layer of thick, cream colored head with some retention, brown-black in color, and medium bodied appearance. Not too strong of an aroma, but some nice things going on. Notes of roasted malts, sugary dark grains, light toast, and earthy hops. The feel was medium bodied and moderately carbonated, but not as creamy smooth as I was hoping. Flavor consists of roasted grains, toast, minor mocha, and a dry, well balanced finish with earth and light herbal notes mixed in. Overall, a very drinkable and well made brew. Enjoyable.
