On tap at the Brewpub. (Considering that I’ve lived in Champaign for the past few months and have tried pretty much everything that Blind Pig has had to offer, its a mystery to me why this is the only one I’ve rated. This will change. Anyway, this is a good example of BPs craftsmanship.) Served in a tulip, there’s some thin wispy head that’s decently retained, along with a hazy amber brown body. There’s a nice combination of caramel malts and wheat going in on here, both in aroma and flavor. The aroma itself has a sugary hefe banana in its backbone, with nutty dark and caramel malts, light spice, and mild supporting hops. The feel is mostly creamy, along with its moments of having too much of a grain sugary consistency. The abv is right where it needs to be with some solid flavors, though there could be a bit more pop behind them. Similar to the aroma, flavor notes of banana, clove, rich caramels, nutty malts, and a herbal grass hop through the finish. Overall, a solid beer from a pretty consistent brewery.
