theisti (1166), Leawood, Kansas, USA Sep 2, 2008 Taster on tap at the brewpub. Pour is clear caramel brown and ruby. Not much of an off-white head. Aroma of biscuit malt and hazelnuts. Taste is nicely sweet and nutty, good full flavor with a lighter drinkable palate. Some nice lingering roastiness in the finish. Nice amber.
unclemike (418), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Apr 13, 2008 On tap at brewpub. Light amber color, slight smell of chocolate, this was a very good beer. tjthresh (1348), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jan 19, 2008 On tap at the brew pub. Amber orange with a smallish white head. Smells like butter and raspberries. Tastes buttery sweet and fruity. Medium body. Average carbonation. Sweet finish. Dull. Gregis (937), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Sep 7, 2007 Pours a clear copper with a ring of off-white bubbles clinging to the edge of the glass when it reached my table. The nose is caramel malt and faint fruity hops. Medium-bodied and grainy with a dry metallic finish. Roasted caramel malts with a fruity hop backing, concluding with a dry metallic note. I’m not sure if I’m just a glutton for punishment or I’m just hoping to find a diamond-in-the-rough, but almost all of the ambers that I’ve tried (with the exception of a few) finish off like I’m sucking on a penny. I just keep trying them, hoping the next one will be "the one" that helps me understand why so many brewers and brewpubs make this style. heemer77 (3827), Savannah, Missouri, USA Mar 28, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark amber with a mostly white head. The aroma was soapy with some hints of oranges and toffee. The taste was caramel with some peanuts and hops. A decent amber, but typically boring.
