heemer77 (3827), Savannah, Missouri, USA Mar 28, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark copper with barely any head. The aroma was sweet toffee with a hint of milk chocolate. There was also amaretto and cherries. The taste was bubblegum, toffee and tea. There was a decent roasted finish.
Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jun 12, 2005 Rusty amber color; thin tan head. Rich sugary personality as one would expect, the alcohol is present but not overbearing. Drinkable. Very good. Indra (1873), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jun 5, 2005 Served in a standard shaker glass. Sweet, brown sugary aroma, spicy with banana bread notes, plenty of yeast esters to be found. Dark orange-amber color, clear, with a fine, slight head. Flavor is lightly bitter to start, gently spicy hops leading into a sweet, sugary, lightly bready body with a yeasty, fruity, lightly alcoholic finish, some orange peel detected? Smooth on the palate, medium-full body and very gently warming. Rendered in a similar style to other American Dubbels I’ve sampled previously, which are almost universally interesting but need just a little less prominent sweetness. Still worth a try, though, makes a good dessert choice especially.
